Co-operative enterprises build a better Iran

The national Seminar on Cooperatives in Iran is a one-day seminar designed around the role of cooperatives in Iran. The seminar will be held in Tehran-Iran on 17^th January, 2012. The Iranian Cooperators House (ICH) is hosting the seminar. The goal of the seminar is to bring coop researchers to discuss the development of cooperatives and get practical ideas for possible implementations.

All Papers should be in A4 MS Word format (Times New Roman, font size 12, single-spaced) . The author(s) full title, name, address, organization and e-mail address should be included at the first of the paper. Also, kindly indicate to whom correspondence should be addressed (if more than one author)

Papers should be submitted by e-mail, as an attached MS Word document,to  iscd2010@yahoo.com  or iscii@yahoo.com no later than November 23, 2010. Please name the document *Author name*seminar2010 (e.g. Smithseminar2010)

The subject field of the e-mail message should include the text "ABS*Author name* ICAseminar2008".

We invite contributed papers that address the themes related to cooperatives, maximum of 10 pages (no more than 7,500 words) for parallel sessions.

Seminar proceedings will be published.

The International Seminar on Cooperatives (ISC) is a one-day seminar designed around the role of cooperatives in balanced development - Experiences of Iran and India. The seminar will be held in Mysore-India on 11^th DEC, 2010. The Union of the Iranian Students Islamic Association Indian-Subcontinent (UISIA) is hosting the conference in collaboration with Ministry of cooperatives of Iran. The goal of the seminar is to bring coop researchers to discuss the development of cooperatives and get practical ideas for possible implementations.The purpose of the seminar is to organize a joint meeting, providing scholars and researchers with the opportunity to present their research findings and case studies within the framework of the given topics.

On 18 December 2009, the United Nations proclaimed 2012 as the International Year of Co-operatives.  By doing so, the UN; recognised that the co-operative business model is a major factor in realising economic and social development. It also now calls on governments, international institutions, co-operatives and other stakeholders to support the development and growth of co-operatives worldwide.

After measuring 5232 economic documents Cooperative Development Bank supplied Rls 600 bn facilities to cooperators in different economic sector in 2 recent mounts.

       Cooperative Development Bank’s credit has  been allocated to different economic sectors including Rls 160 bn  in Agriculture sector,  Rls 75 bn  in Industry & Mind sector  , Rls 154 bn in Housing &  Constructive sector  , Rls 98 bn in Commerce sector  and Rls 12 bn in service &  Multi Purpose  respectively 26/5% , 12/6% , 16/4% and 18/7 % .

     It is noticeable  the  bank’s  credit  facilities has been paid  within the framework of different bounds including RLs 229 bn ( 38/2% ) , Rls 165  bn ( 27/4% ) and Rls 206 bn ( 34% ) respectively short , medium and long terms  , in addition these credit facilities   have been allocated to  cooperative unions and companies and their members   respectively Rls 405 bn (67/7)  and Rls 194( 32/3% )

   The said documents have been approved by bank’s central department, head quarters and branches and Rls 267 bn and  Rls 332 bn facilities has been supplied .

it is note worthy  cooperators have been provided  with facilities through different bounds  including Rls 465 bn  Installment facilities   and 134 bn  civil participate , repairing and free –loan facilities .

The theme of the 2010 International Day of Co-operatives celebrated around the world on 3 July 2010 is  "Co-operative enterprise empowers women More information: www.copac.coop/idc/ ." 

The ICA is pleased to announce the adoption of the UN resolution, "Co-operatives and social development: which proclaims 2012 International Year of Co-operatives. The resolution (A/RES/64/136) passed on 18 December 2009 by consensus was proposed by 55 UN Member States. It recognises that the co-operative business model is a major factor in realising economic and social development and calls on governments, international institutions, co-operatives and other stakeholders to support the development and growth of co-operatives worldwide.
